Explore the High Atlas Mountains on a horseback! You will ride through some farms in Asni town near Berber villages as well as take in all the wonderful landscapes this region has to offer. Make the best of your stay while in Marrakech!
You will be picked up from your Hotel at 9 am, and drive towards the High Atlas Mountains, namely to Azerg Moulay Brahim where you will find horses waiting for you! Once you get there, you will be met by a local guide who will join you during a 2h ride on horseback that will take you through some farms & fields till you finish your ride near some berber villages from where you will be picked up again & drive towards imlil valley where you will have a stop for lunch before you go on a short guided hike around some small hamlets! Later in the afternoon, you will be picked up & drive back to Marrakech! drop off near your accommodation's location. Once you arrive in Imlil (the village named after the valley it is in – Imlil Valley) you will stop for a welcome glass of mint tea and meet your guide before commencing your trek. Your guide will help you decide on the length of trek you want to do (between 1 and 3 hours) and then you will make your way either on foot or riding on a Mule up to Armed the highest and the biggest village in Imlil Valley.Your journey will take you past waterfalls and the hamlets of Ait Mizan, Targa and Imoula, you will stop off in Tamatert and have the opportunity to take in the views of ancient irrigated terraced fields of barley, corn, and vegetables, surrounded by cherry and walnut trees. Your guide will point out things of interest and talk to you about the Berber culture and heritage along the way.You will have the opportunity to have mint tea with a Berber family as you come down through the village of Ait Souka and you will then enjoy a traditional Moroccan meal in a family Berber guest house.Once you are rested you will begin your return trip down the other side of the valley to Taourirt to meet your transport. Your return transfer will take you via Moulay Brahim Gorges, where you will arrive at a main trailhead with streams and paths branching out in all directions. Here you can will have the opportunity to experience riding a camel. You will then continue your journey back to Marrakech, arriving back in Marrakech at approximately 6.00pm.
